The Muholi Art Institute, in collaboration with WiSER at Wits University, presents Khululekani, an exhibition marking 20 years of Zanele Muholi’s ongoing photographic series, Faces and Phases. Initiated in 2006, Faces and Phases is a living archive of Black LGBTQIA+ lives. Over two decades, Muholi has photographed members of the community, often returning to the same participants across the years, creating a record that speaks to presence, transformation, memory and continuity.
